Gotchi Guardians is now accessible directly in-browser, introducing exciting updates like GHST token integration, NFT skins, spectator mode, and a clip-sharing reward program. No downloads or launchers required!
Aavegotchi’s Gotchi Guardians has launched its browser version, available now on the official website. This eliminates the need for external launchers, streamlining access and onboarding for new players. The standalone launcher is paused for now but expected to return with enhanced features later.
The update brings on-chain Aavegotchi skins to the game. Players can equip their Aavegotchi NFTs as visual skins for their Guardians, adding a personal flair to matches. While these skins don’t impact gameplay mechanics, they’re a fun way to showcase your collection. Select them via the Guardians selector with a brief loading time.
The in-game currency, G-Bucks, can now be bought using GHST, the Aavegotchi ecosystem’s native token, on the Base blockchain. This follows Coinbase’s recent support for GHST deposits and withdrawals, boosting accessibility.
Fund your Aavegotchi Player Profile with GHST, then spend it in the Gotchi Guardians shop for G-Bucks and items. Future updates will refine this process. For non-crypto users, G-Bucks are also available via credit card through payment partner Xsolla.
The new Spectator Mode lets players join custom lobbies to watch battles without playing—perfect for learning strategies or enjoying community matches. The update also includes balance patches and bug fixes, with full details in the Gotchi Guardians Notion page.
To boost engagement, the “Show Us Your Clips” campaign rewards players with 100 to 1,000 GHST for submitting gameplay highlights. Rewards depend on creativity, effort, and social media impact.
Selected clips will shine on Aavegotchi’s official social channels. Share independently, and if reposted by the team, you’re still eligible for GHST. Submit via the Typeform link. This pilot program may evolve based on feedback.
Currently in alpha (version 0.8.5), this update paves the way for a full 1.0 release with multi-platform support. Future tournaments and events are planned, so now’s the time to hone your skills for upcoming competitions.
